LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSING DIPLOMA PROGRAM
The Licensed Practical Nursing program is a Diploma Nursing Program
OASIS uses the renowned Canadian Practical Nursing program curriculum. The program does not require prior or in-depth knowledge of advanced sciences. The curriculum and practice scope are based primarily on professional behaviour and conduct, medical ethics, communication skill and basic medical science.
Upon completing the program, graduates may choose to practise abroad. LPN works with the support of Registered Nurses and doctors within a defined scope.
In the OASIS Practical Nursing (LPN ), students acquire the practical and theoretical grounding to provide professional nursing care to individuals, families and groups in various settings.
OASIS students work through a combination of well-structured and supported coursework and practical clinical placements, learning with blended international curricula and advanced technologies that prepare them for a successful career abroad.
Registered /licensed Practical Nursing graduates are called Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and are in high demand globally.

PROGRAM DURATION: Minimum of 14 months only. Successful students can complete the program and get employed within two years.
PROGRAM DELIVERY METHOD: Blended ( on-site and online). The blended delivery option provides an opportunity to work and study.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION: LPN is a well-established and highly recognized nursing profession in advanced countries, including Canada, the U.S.A and the U.K. They are essential members of the health team.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE: LPN job roles provides opportunities to work in various healthcare delivery locations, including hospital, Long term facilities, Seniors’ homes, Assisted Living facilities, Private homes, Medical Clinics, Urgent Care Center, Residential homes and others. This makes the demand for LPN jobs very high.
CAREER ADVANCEMENT: LPNs may advance their clinical nursing career to a Registered Nurse position.
Some Canadian provinces fund LPN to further their studies in the Nursing Degree program while they continue to work and earn their full LPN salaries.
At OASIS, LPN can advance their studies to the Nursing Degree certificate through the Access to Advanced Nursing program.

HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The Health Care Assistant (HCA) is a six months certificate program. The hands-on program teaches practical skills fundamental to providing direct professional personal care to frail elderly, disabled and sick persons in their individual, assisted and independently living group homes.
The HCA program curriculum at OASIS is Canadian. Admission and successful learning in the HCA program do not require prior knowledge of sciences but the ability to communicate effectively and provide nursing care empathetically within the prescribed practice scope and professional ethics.
At OASIS, the HCA students learn through in-class instruction and practical experience activities at OASIS state-of-the-art nursing labs, class work, clinical instruction and practical experience at senior/disabled homes and health facilities.

DUAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
Applicants with exceptional academic records may simultaneously be considered for admission into two programs. Students admitted to the program will study courses for the two programs simultaneously and must meet all the expected learning outcomes of the individual programs to graduate. Successful students will graduate with two certificates, one for each program.
Graduates of the Dual Certificate Program interested in travelling and practising abroad may start processing the travelling document with the first certificate and update their application documents when the second certificate is received. In addition to earning two certificates simultaneously and increasing employment opportunities, Dual Certificate Program shortens the wait time to apply for travel documents.

1- Health Care Assistant and Licensed Practical Nursing Dual Program: Successful students graduate with an HCA certificate after six months and an LPN certificate after 14 months.
2- Licensed Practical Nursing and Degree Nursing Dual Program: Successful students graduate with an LPN certificate after 14 months and an HND nursing certificate after four years.

PRE-NURSING PROGRAM
This program is available for candidates interested in Degree Nursing and Licensed Practical Nursing programs that still need to meet the program’s admission requirements. Successful program completion is a substitute for the WAEC, NECO, UTME and Entrance exam requirements for program admission.

ACCESS TO ADVANCED NURSING PROGRAM.
This program is an access to career and certificate advancement. Graduates of any nursing program wanting to improve their knowledge and gain the next higher certificate may apply.
